Who Am I? An Inspiring Poem

By Valentino Crawford

As I am continuing my journey of self-mastery and developing my knowledge of individual development, I came across an inspiring poem. It genuinely tends to make you think...

Who Am I Author Unknown

"You may know me...I'm your constant companion. I'm your greatest helper. I'm your heaviest burden. I'll push you onward...or drag you down to failure.

I am at your command if you choose to use me. Half the tasks you do...can be turned over to me. I'm able to do them quickly and I'm able to do them the same every time.

I'm easily managed-all you have to do is be firm with me. Show me exactly how you want it done. After a few lessons, I'll do it automatically.

I am the servant of all great men and women. And of course, the servant of all the failures as well. I've made all the great individuals who have ever been great, And all the losers, too.

I work with the precision of a computer and the intelligence of a human being. You may run me for profit, or you may run me to ruin... It makes no difference to me.

Take me. Be easy with me and I will destroy you. Be firm with me and I'll put the world at your feet.

Who am I?

I am your Habit."

I am Your Habit

Wow! Now that poem really resonated with me! I located the poem within a book I'm currently reading referred to as "The Power of Coaching," by Machen MacDonald.

It genuinely created me think about all of the stories I've heard along with the books I've read about productive individuals. Even the effective folks I know personally have this one particular issue in common...they have effective habits! They do issues on a constant basis that get results.

On the flip-side, those that have not had the results they desired almost certainly have NOT formed successful habits. They might even have habits that hinder them...and they have to be broken.

As I appear at myself, I'm becoming a lot more aware from the habits I have formed which got me results. And because they had been habits, I might or could not have already been aware of them unless they had been brought to my attention.

For example, do you actually spend attention to each time you breathe? Probably not, because it is natural...you do it without considering it. You do it all the time! So what do you do each of the time that gets you the outcomes you want? What effective habits have you formed?

And should you be not getting the results you desire, you need to ask yourself...what are you NOT undertaking?

In case you are not positive what habits are keeping you from your goals, spend focus to a person who already has what you want. Observe and study them. If you can, ASK them what habits did they form to obtain the results they wanted?

1 thing I learned from this inspiring poem is the fact that my habits may be my greatest friends or my worst enemies. It is time to acquire acquainted with them, make the distinction, and determine who's going to be on board.
