The Only Known Worldview That Promises Hope

By Jimmie Burroughs

Everyone has a worldview. Worldviews are formed by assertions, upbringing, culture, education, media, movies and even video games. Worldviews are not always formed deliberately; they may just be soaked up by osmosis from the culture around us. Many would lack the capability to defend what they suspect concerning the meaning and point of life; their worldview is a mesh mash of their experiences and the influences around them. On the other hand, the Bible worldview is a learned and based mostly on what Scripture teaches, and is the only worldview that promises hope . It is based on these 7 truths:

- God exists (Heb. 11:6)
- The Bible is God?s divinely impressed Word (2 Tim. 3:16)
- God created everything that exists (Gen.1:1)
- God holds everything together (Col. 1:17)
- God came to earth and lived in the body of Jesus Christ 2,000 years back (Col. 1:19).
- In the Garden of Eden Humankind selected to rebel against God and on account of that act of rebellion, sin and death entered the world (Rom. 5:12-14).
- Believing in Jesus Christ is the only possible way to have eternal life or to be reunited ?with Our Lord God (John 3:15-19, 5:24), (Luke 8:21, John 3:20, John 14:21, 23-24), (Acts 4:10-12).

God Exists

Whether Gods exists or not in the mind of an individual is the basis for all other conjectures that compose a world view. If there's no God in a person's mind, the random choice or natural selection speculation of Darwin is the only other alternative. Since natural selection eliminates any higher authority with nobody to be accountable to, then there aren't any fixed points, no morals, nor any right or wrong and nothing really matters, therefore only meaningless and hopelessness.

A Biblical world view is based on the evidence that God exists, and the evidence of his presence can be seen all around us:

- In the complexness of earth?s self sustaining design; perfect in each way to meets life?s wishes along with the ideal size and supporting functions of the moon.
- In the universe. The universe had to have a beginning. Who started it and who fortifies it with an unchanging set of laws?
- In the human body: The DNA code informs, programs a cell's behavior with laws that are definite perfect.
- In his revelation inside us: He pursues us and creates Devine knowledge within us of his existence. We are innately beings of worship, irrespective of whether it is God we opt to worship.
- In his son: More than any other way God revealed himself through his son Jesus Christ.

The Bible is God?s divinely impressed Word to humankind

All scripture is given by inspiration of Almighty God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: (2 Tim. 3:16)

In 1,000s of years the Bible has still to be proven wrong. Yes, there were times when science or historians presented reasons explaining why the Bible couldn't be true scientifically or historically, but their reasons have been proven to be wrong in time. Below are one or two articles that are on my otobefree.com web site under the title of Bible on the navagational bar that give the explanations why we know the Bible is the word of God:

- Introduction
- Bible and Science
- Bible and Histor
- Bible and Prophecy
- Bible and Unity
- Bible and Power

God created all things

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. (Gen.1:1)

?For by him [Christ] all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were made by him and for him. He's before all things, and in him all things hold together. (Col. 1:17)

There are two ideas for creation: creationism as indicated by Gen 1:1 and Col. 1:17, and random selection. Both must be accepted by faith because there are no human witnesses for either. There are two Problems. With creationism there are many that refuse to accept the idea of a. Supernatural being with omnipotent powers to make a universe and all that it contains. With evolution it's the problem of accepting something that goes against all reason or logic, but since it's the only alternative other than accepting God, many say they accept it whether they truly do or not. With today advances in science many scientists no longer accept evolution, but neither do they accept creationism. I guess you could say they are sort of in limbo.

Even when a scientific law, the second law of thermodynamics, which proves that things left to themselves do not improve but denigrate, folks still are of the opinion that things do improve through genetic mutations and develop from lower forms to higher forms. However , Science can't explain how there are specific precise, incontrovertible laws which control everything in the universe, including the human body, when it might be simpler to expect random selection to also be randomly changing without any strict patterns.

God holds everything together

He's before all things, and in him all things hold together. (Col. 1:17)

We know that all mater is made of atoms. Atoms are made up of a nucleus and electrons that swirl around the nucleus at great speeds. Though ideas have been presented as regards what holds these atoms together, it's a mystery.

Sir Isaac Newton was 24 years old when he found out that all bodies of matter possess a mutual attraction, what we call gravity that makes things fall downward instead of up. That also keeps us from flying off the earth which is spinning through space at a speed of just about 67,000 miles per hour.

In Colossians 1:16-17 we are told that Christ is the gravity that holds things together, For by him [Christ] all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, identifiable and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him. He's before all things, and in him all things hold together.

It is quite superb that Christ is the power behind the universe which he created, and the power we call gravity, or whatever puzzle it is, that holds things together!

God revealed himself to us when he came to earth as Jesus Christ

For God was happy to have all his fullness dwell in him, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace thru his blood, shed on the cross . (Colossians 1:19-20)

Sin and death entered the world because Humankind selected to rebel against God

Death Through Adam, Life Thru Christ:

just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all people, because all sinned.

To be sure, sin was in the world before the law was given, but sin is not charged against anyone's account where there is not any law. However, death reigned from the time of Adam to the time of Moses, even over those that did not sin by breaking a command, as did Adam, who is a pattern of the one to come . (Romans 5:12-14)

According to Scripture believing in Jesus Christ is the only possible way to have eternal life or to have a connection with God.

Neither is there deliverance in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved . (Acts 4:12)

Really truly I tell you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life. (John 5:24)

Jesus recounted, I am the way, the truth, and the life, and no man cometh to the Father but by me. (John 14:6)

For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is created unto deliverance. (Romans 10:10)

If you'd like to start a relationship with The Lord God now, you can.

The decision is solely yours. There is not any duress. But if you've got a desire to have a relationship with God and receive his forgiveness and guarantee of eternal life, you can do that at the moment today. Jesus said, "Behold, I stand at the door [of your heart] and knock. He who hears my voice and opens the door, I'll come into him [or her]" (Rev. 3:20). If this is your wish but do not know how to word your request, this may help:

"Jesus, I think you died for my sins and rose from the grave. I'd like to turn from my life of sin and receive your forgiveness. Please come into my life right now and forgive me. Thanks for saving me. Amen."

When God comes into a person?s life it is permanent. Jesus Christ related, "I know them, and they follow me; and I give them eternal life,. And they shall never perish, and no one shall snatch them out of my hand."

I'm so thankful and blessed by your decision to get Jesus. I want to help you in your new found relationship with him. Please click the link below to point out you have prayed the prayer above and I'll send you some material which I think you will find to be really helpful1

I just prayed and asked Jesus into my life (Please send me some helpful information) ...
