When you're having a panic attack you should try to play the opposites game. If you feel like running, stand still. If you feel like crying, start to laugh, Continue to do the opposite of the actions you feel you should be doing and your body will start to relax and get over the attack.

If you know someone prone to panic attacks, try and be a mindful of situations that you know may trigger an attack and avoid them. If you sense your friend or loved one is about to go into a panicked stage, speak in calm tones and distract them while you casually remove them from the situation.

Keeping your emotions inside and not sharing them is a great way to set off panic attacks, so stop it! Try to find someone who you trust and share with them any problems you're facing, or consider going to a therapist or counselor for help. There's always someone to talk to!

When you have a panic attack sit down and figure out how it's making you feel at the moment. On a scale from one to ten to rate your feelings. Wait for a while and then rate your anxiety again. Continue until your anxiety is back to a 0.

If you understand how breathing can change your mood, you can control your anxiety. If you lengthen or slow down the speed of your exhalation, your body and mind will begin to relax. If you slow down the speed of your inhalation, you will stimulate your body and your mind.

One way to decrease the symptoms of a panic attack is by correcting your posture. During a panic attack, people tend to cross their arms and draw their legs up tightly against their body. It is a naturally protective position, but it tends to restrict breathing, which can increase the severity of your symptoms. Try to be aware of your posture during a panic attack. Stand or kneel, if possible. This allows you to breathe more evenly and calm down more quickly.

It is very hard to deal with your anxiety issues if you feel as if you are alone. When you are trying to deal with your panic attacks, it is important that you have people around you to help get through your issues and problems. That is what friends are for after all.

Become the person you need to be to beat panic attacks. If you want to be a confident person, imagine you are. If you want to have more control in your life, BELIEVE that you have complete control. Whenever you feel the opposite way stop what you're doing, clear your mind of the bad thoughts, and remember you are the person you want to be.
