The Importance of Living In The Moment

By Ash Morgan

We often here someone say, we need to be living in the moment, instead of stressing over what could happen in the future.

Couldn't agree more, it's all about being happy now, and appreciating the dawning of every new day.

And I say this as someone who dislike the use of cliches. Words like Living in the NOW, Living in the Moment are a little too corny for me, in everyday speak, but whether I like them or not cliches are cliches because they are usually true.

Our role on earth is so unbelievably short and insignificant, in the whole scheme of things. All our worries and fears disintegrate into dust soon enough anyway.

We have a role to play here on earth, and that is to live our life the best way we can, regardless of what might happen to us.

We can't spend all our time worrying that we might get cancer, or stressing out about our children getting hurt. We can easily consume ourselves with grief and anxiety at the thought of something bad happening to us.

It is important to think about tomorrow, as we all need something to strive for in the quest to live our life the best way we possibly can.

Without this we just ramble on without any direction.

Tomorrow is very important, however it should be seen as a way of inspiring us to become even better.

Yesterday did matter, because we learnt some valuable lessons and enjoyed ourselves too. However yesterday's failures are not there to punish us.

It is all about what's happening today. Living in the moment, not tomorrow or yesterday.

Some people say that If you think about something often enough, and believe that you can do it, you are probably right.

In the same way you might think about losing. If you have convinced yourself that you are going to drop that putt, or miss that shot, then that is probably the most likely outcome.

Fear has the ability to crush us. It comes into our headspace uninvited and takes over.

It is only because of our own self-confidence that we allow fear to overcome us.

FEAR is a BULLY, if you stand up to it, it will run away.

At the same time, I'm not suggesting, we ignore all danger signs and pretend they don't exist. No, we need to view our lives optimistically, however we also need to think more realistically, and less emotionally.

It's great to have a positive rather than a negative view, as long as we don't blindly turn away from danger.

The best approach when you first get started in your home business, is to be a pragmatic optimist. It's also good to have a non-attachment mentality, where you realise that if you are consistent and competent, you will succeed anyway.

So there is no need to worry about what might happen.

Believe in yourself, and just be the best you can be. You can only control what is happening right now.

The future is largely out of our hands, so we need to make sure we get the most of of today.

Enjoy what's happening today, and don't allow FEAR to spoil it.

It's ok to make mistakes at first, that's how we learn.

For me, it's all about living in the moment.
